Designing your own Mood Board in a nutshell…

Mood boardThe Base Colour: this can be the colour of the wall or the floor as this is the largest coloured area in the room.  How about adding samples? If you haven’t got the exact sample you can do it with a picture.  Flooring samples will help you think of other textures too.

The Accent Tone: if you choose an under stated base colour now is the time to add a little splash of drama, if that’s too much for you then just pick a similar tone a 3 or 4 shades away from your chosen colour. You can layer it with all sorts of samples like wallpaper, paint, fabric and trimming.

The Accessories: these can be anything from cushions to frames, rugs, cups, lampshades and even cupboard knobs!
